"Welcome to the School of Artificial Intelligence & Data Engineering, a department built on the conviction that AI will define the next century of human progress."

Over the past few years, we have been steadily building the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering (sAIDE), IIT Ropar, as a centre for high-quality academic programmes, impactful research, and socially relevant AI initiatives.

Since the establishment of the School, we have expanded our academic offerings through new programmes such as B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, the joint M.Sc. in Data Science and Management with IIM Amritsar, B.Tech. in Digital Agriculture, and the M.S. in Data Science for IIT Madras BS students.Alongside academic growth, we have also worked to strengthen the School’s research visibility and collaborations. A major milestone in this direction was CVIP 2025, held in December 2025 at IIT Ropar, which brought eminent researchers to campus and reflected our growing academic engagement with leading scholars such as Prof. Anil K. Jain from Michigan State University and Prof. Guoying Zhao from the University of Oulu. We have also focused on socially important and application-driven research, including engagement with Punjab Police in the area of AI for internal security and public safety. In addition, through our pre-AI Summit activities, hackathons, outreach programmes, and awareness events, we have sought to build a strong culture of innovation, student participation, and societal impact.

Our effort has been to shape sAIDE not only as a new academic unit, but as a vibrant platform for research, collaboration, education, and real-world AI impact.
